Racism and oppression go deep. We have a proven track record of getting to the Roots of Justice.
“I have left [other] antiracism trainings where I felt completely paralyzed. [ROJ’s] Damascus Road doesn’t soften the information, analysis, and feelings that emerge from effective antiracism trainings, but channels them in appropriate ways.”
Who We Are
Roots of Justice, Inc. is a collective of anti-racism educators and organizers who have been working together since 1995. We are indigenous, black, Latinx, and white people from Canada and the United States. We identify as principled people of faith and no faith. We actively seek to include all ethnic and racial identities, sexualities, and gender expressions in our collective.
This collective was formed to meet a call for strategies for undoing racism, and we have primarily addressed that call by conducting analysis trainings. We now seek to broaden our work to include other and related oppressions such as sexism, heterosexism, classism and militarism. We provide trainings and consulting using both a faith based and non-faith based lens of analysis.
For over 20 years we've provided trainings and consultation to public and private institutions, community groups, religious institutions, colleges, and businesses.
